The Women Wires, Sticks, Bricks, Pipes, Trucks, and Dollars event, hosted by the Local 10 Plumbers and Pipefitters, in conjunction with the Department of Labor and Industry, brought employers and prospective future Registered Apprentices together.
Struck-By Fatalities
Many fatal accidents in the workplace occur when someone is struck by material, equipment, machinery, or vehicles. Each year many workers die from “Struck-By” accidents. Employees must be aware of working around equipment, materials, and vehicles in order to avoid “Struck-By” injuries.
National Safety Stand Down Week
In recognition of National Safety Stand-Down week, Safety Program Director Jennifer Rose and Regional Director Daniel Wells attended the Clark Construction stand-down to bring awareness to falls in the construction industry. We encourage Virginia employers to participate in the national initiative this week.
