The Women Wires, Sticks, Bricks, Pipes, Trucks, and Dollars event, hosted by the Local 10 Plumbers and Pipefitters, in conjunction with the Department of Labor and Industry, brought employers and prospective future Registered Apprentices together. The event’s purpose was to get women interested in male-dominated industries in the workforce. While the event targeted young women, anyone was welcome to attend. The job fair was successful with 12 local employers and several women interested in breaking into the trades industries. We hope this will be the first of many events like this to come.
